What a rating is
Two numbers sit behind every star rating: the average and the number of ratings it is the average of. A store page prints both. They are read together here because an average of a few ratings and an average of many are written the same way.
FxPro cTrader — Google Play
The header of the page shows 4.4 stars from 3,217 ratings. The “Ratings and reviews” block shows 4.4 from 2,996; the two figures differ by 221 ratings and the page does not say why. Split by star: five stars 2,361 (74%), four 244 (8%), three 325 (10%), two 122 (4%), one 122 (4%). Four and five stars together are 82% of the 3,174 ratings split. At this count one added rating moves the average by at most 0.00158 of a star.
FxPro cTrader — App Store
The page shows 4.6 stars from 5 ratings in the Pakistan storefront. Split by star: five stars 4 (80%), four 0 (0%), three 1 (20%), two 0 (0%), one 0 (0%). Four and five stars together are 80% of the 5 ratings split. At this count one added rating moves the average by at most 1.00000 of a star.
cTrader: CFD Trading & Charts — Google Play
The header of the page shows 4.6 stars from 29,856 ratings. The “Ratings and reviews” block shows 4.6 from 28,659; the two figures differ by 1,197 ratings and the page does not say why. Split by star: five stars 22,918 (77%), four 3,855 (13%), three 1,452 (5%), two 529 (2%), one 1,059 (4%). Four and five stars together are 90% of the 29,813 ratings split. At this count one added rating moves the average by at most 0.00017 of a star.
cTrader: CFD Trading & Charts — App Store
The page shows 4.8 stars from 275 ratings in the Pakistan storefront. Split by star: five stars 238 (87%), four 23 (8%), three 6 (2%), two 2 (1%), one 6 (2%). Four and five stars together are 95% of the 275 ratings split. At this count one added rating moves the average by at most 0.01818 of a star.
Reading the split
Read the two outer bars first, then the middle ones; the middle three say how many people were neither delighted nor unhappy.
Where two rows differ, the table shows both and the text does not weigh them. They are different pages read on the same day.
How much weight a count carries
The largest change one more rating can make to an average is 5 divided by the count: FxPro cTrader: 0.0016; FxPro cTrader: 1.0000; cTrader: CFD Trading & Charts: 0.0002; cTrader: CFD Trading & Charts: 0.0182. The smaller that number, the steadier the average.
What this page leaves out
Reviews are people's own writing, with their names, and a handful picked by a store's ordering is not a sample. They are left out; the average, the count and the five bars are the part that can be recomputed.

What this page does not cover
Only one family of facts is read here; Cost lines, Identity, Versions and Data declarations have their own pages. The ledger also leaves out anything behind a login: identity checks, funding screens and the order ticket.
Ratings at a glance

Before you tap install
Is a higher rating better?
Not without the count. The same average rests on very different numbers of ratings.
Why are some figures printed twice?
A Google Play page prints a rating in its header and again in its ratings block, and the two can differ; both are shown.
Does the site show reviews?
No. They are other people's words.
Will the figures change?
Yes; a rating is a moving number, which is why each table carries its reading date.
A store page is not a transfer
What these pages read is the store's side: the listing. Opening a live account is a separate step with the broker, with identity checks and rules about sending money abroad that sit outside any app. Read the broker page before you decide, and do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.
